Laboratory refrigerators use to store scientific materials and important medical in a given specific temperature. This type of fridge is not use for households. People who have this kind of fridge are the people have in specific profession like scientist, biologist, etc. Laboratory fridges have specific temperature regulation capabilities, this is designed with more detail and fine tuned requirement to meet the temperature of the items that will be stored. Temperature adjustments are highly controlled, particularly for sensitive specimen, while other materials vary from low or extremely cold temperature.

The chest freezer and the upright freezer are the two main classifications of a laboratory refrigerator. These two freezer models vary in the space of their respective quantities. Domestic Refrigerators don?t require temperature regulation. These refrigerators are known to be household refrigerators that go around with 38 to 4o degrees Fahrenheit. Domestic fridge does not vary in sizes and shapes because most of them are in standard size with top and bottom compartment. There is a compartment called freezer to store foods to be frozen. It is usually open with single outward-pull door and a sliding drawer and compartments, while laboratory refrigerators has only one sliding glass door.

Laboratory refrigerator is equipped with an alarm system that if there?s an internal change of temperature the alarm will sound to notify the lab custodian, while you can adjust the temperature in domestic refrigerator and it has a dial for your convenience. Knowing the differences of the two refrigerator types can give us the idea on how they function and how they are being used. Domestic refrigerator is the basic refrigerator that can be found in your house and laboratory refrigerators are for higher-tech functions.
